Social Innovation Workshop

Are you interested in learning how to work collaboratively with multisectoral stakeholders in order to solve complex social challenges associated with population aging? The Canadian Association on Gerontology Student Connection-Connexion Étudiante invites students and recent graduates to join us for a workshop on social innovation presented by facilitators from NouLAB, a social and public innovation lab in New Brunswick. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the social innovation lab process and work together in teams to develop policies and interventions to address challenges presented by population aging. This workshop will be offered in English with bilingual (English and French) facilitation. The number of seats will be limited so please register early to ensure your spot.

Come join us for a fun team-building exercise at Room Escape Atlantic. Students will work in small teams to solve puzzles that will encourage you to think outside the box in order to escape from the room. The cost for students is $20 (please bring payment in cash). The Canadian Association on Gerontology Student Connection-Connexion Étudiante will pay for the cost of transportation for students/recent graduates to and from the location.

Students and recent graduates are invited to attend a social where we will enjoy food and drinks at a local restaurant before the Conference Opening Ceremonies. The student social will take place at 5:00pm. Meet at the Student Connection Display Table at 4:45pm to walk to the restaurant. All attendees are responsible for their own costs.

This symposium will explore the manuscript review process from the perspectives of authors, reviewers and journal editors. The journal review and publishing process will be demystified by providing students and recent graduates with essential tips for publishing their work while also gaining skills on becoming reviewers for an academic journal.
